Journey to the Promised Land
Acrylic on canvas 22”x 44”
The first time I took in this magnificent view of Chicago, I was traveling by taxi from O’Hare to an advertising agency for a job interview. I was so impressed by this skyline and overwhelmed by the possibility of joining all the commuters rushing into the city. I got the job (I couldn’t believe my good fortune) and lived in Chicago for 15 years. It wasn’t until 30 years later that I finally got around to recording the scene. Some impressions last a lifetime. The buildings have accumulated, but the Sears Tower
(though the name has changed) and the Hancock building still command the skyline.
