Revelation 21 and 22

This is John’s vision of the Holy City coming down out of heaven. It is prepared like a bride for her husband, with gates and towers of gold; transparent as glass, adorned with jewels.

God is dwelling here, and the glory of God lights the city (symbolized by the radiating rings of gold). The water is the River of Life, which runs through the middle of the City and is given freely to the servants of God.

Those who conquer, (the heroic statues) are worshiping God and the Lamb. They shall see God’s face and reign forever without pain, sorrow or death. They are being supported and raised up by the tree of life. It has 12 kinds of fruit and leaves to heal the nations.  This tree is also an echo of Christ as the vine (John 15:1-8). Only through Christ are we able to conquer sin and death.

The arch in the foreground symbolizes the gates of the City, which are always open to all peoples of the Earth, provided they seek truth and purity, and their names are written in the Lamb’s book of Life.

“The spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come’. Let everyone who hears say, ‘Come’. Let everyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wishes, take the water of life as a gift.”
