Make the most of the unique properties of Acrylic paints and mediums when practicing glazing, (transparency) and impasto (heavy application).    These along with traditional layering techniques will be demonstrated to show how painting with acrylics can give you more versatility. The class will include sketching of subject matter and taking photographic reference. All levels welcome, from beginners to advanced. Learn to reinvigorate the pastel medium by using pastels in combination with unusual papers and surfaces and with various pencils and inks.  Study layering techniques for richer colors and textures, and experiment with finishing coats.  Through photographic reference and sketching sessions, you’re also encouraged to build a solid foundation in drawing.  Some work on site on campus.
